I’m making this new Slayers 2 Breathing Style & Demon Art tier list based on how they actually perform in PvP, PvE, dungeons, boss fights, and everything in between.
So if you’re a human slayer swinging a katana or a demon relying on your Blood Demon Art, this breakdown will tell you exactly which movesets are worth your time and which ones you should avoid until the balance patch hopefully saves them.
Quick heads up: this Roblox Slayers 2 tier list reflects the game as of today, before the balance patch drops. Some of these rankings could shift once the devs start tweaking numbers, so keep that in mind if you’re reading this later.

S Tier: The Best Movesets in Slayers 2
These are the movesets that define the current meta. If you have one of these, you’re already ahead. If you don’t, you should be working toward getting one.
Thunder Breathing
Thunder Breathing is the undisputed king of Slayers 2 right now, and it’s not hard to see why. The moves are effectively instant-cast, which means opponents have almost no time to react. In PvP, that’s a death sentence for anyone on the receiving end. You can’t block what you can’t see coming, and Thunder just doesn’t give you the chance.
What makes Thunder so dominant is that it doesn’t sacrifice anything for that speed. It’s also incredibly strong in PvE, with solid damage output and moves that chain together smoothly. Whether you’re dueling another player or grinding through a dungeon, Thunder performs. It’s the safest pick if you only want to master one style and ride it to the top.
Best for: Literally everything. Thunder is the most complete moveset in the game right now.
Blood Manipulation
Blood Manipulation is the best Blood Demon Art in the game, and arguably the best moveset overall before the balance patch. The reason is simple: almost every move works like a barrage, which means you’re dealing excellent damage over time while your teammates can stack M1s on top of your attacks.
In group boss fights, Blood is unmatched. Your DPS stays high, your allies contribute during your sequences, and the boss just melts. In PvP, the moves chain into extensions and M1s for long pressure sequences, so you’re rarely stuck waiting for a window. Thunder might have faster moves, but Blood has a higher ceiling when you’re playing with a coordinated team.
Best for: Group boss fights, coordinated PvE, and PvP pressure. The ultimate team player moveset.
Ice Manipulation
Ice Manipulation has one of the best grabs in the game, a strong counter, and combos that flow naturally out of both. The ice rain stacks with your M1s, which turns a single opening into a massive chunk of damage. If you land the grab, the opponent is basically dead.
Where Ice really shines is in dungeons. The AoE ranges are among the widest available, so you’re covering entire groups of enemies instead of picking them off one by one. It’s also a strong PvP option thanks to the control tools, though it requires more execution than Thunder or Blood. If you want one art that handles duels and clearing equally well, Ice is it.
Best for: PvP control, dungeon AoE, and players who don’t mind putting in the practice to master a more technical kit.
A Tier: Excellent Options With a Bit More Niche
These movesets are genuinely strong, but they either specialize in one mode or require more effort to get maximum value. You’ll never feel bad about using one of these.
Sound Breathing
Sound Breathing has some of the best combo potential in the game. Almost every move can be extended into another one, which means you can keep pressure on opponents for a long time. The projectile move is one of the best single abilities in the game, dealing massive damage and giving you a ranged option that most breathing styles lack.
In group PvE, Sound doubles as a support style. Some moves lock enemies in place long enough for your teammates to pile on damage, which makes you invaluable in coordinated content. The only reason it’s not S Tier is that it doesn’t have the raw speed of Thunder or the sheer damage output of Blood. But it’s close.
Best for: Combo-heavy PvP and group PvE where you want to support your team while still dealing damage.
Snake Breathing
Snake Breathing leans on mobility. The teleport and knock-up moves let you open fights on your terms and keep them going, which makes it a real threat in duels. The barrages handle PvE damage without any trouble, so you’re not sacrificing one mode for another.
What holds Snake back from S Tier is that it requires more setup than Thunder. You need to land the teleport or knock-up to get your combo started, and against skilled opponents, that’s not always easy. But when it works, it works beautifully.
Best for: PvP players who like mobility and want a style that’s also solid in PvE.
Insect Breathing
Insect is similar to Thunder in that most of its moves come out quickly and link into each other with little effort. The barrages are the payoff, letting you pile on combo damage against both players and bosses. It’s a fast, aggressive style that rewards constant pressure.
The reason it’s A Tier rather than S is that it doesn’t have the instant-cast speed of Thunder. It’s fast, but not unreactable. Still, in the hands of a player who knows how to keep the pressure on, Insect is a nightmare to deal with.
Best for: Players who want a fast, combo-heavy style that works in both PvP and PvE.
Dream Manipulation
Dream Manipulation is a control specialist. It revolves around stuns and a strong grab, and stringing those together produces some of the cleanest combos in the game. In PvP, it’s a monster. You catch the opponent in a stun, land the grab, and they’re done.
The trade-off is PvE. The same tools that make Dream amazing in duels don’t do as much against bosses. It’s still perfectly serviceable, but it’s not a reason to pick Dream. If you’re a PvP main, this is one of the best arts you can run. If you split your time between modes, you might want something more versatile.
Best for: PvP-focused players who want oppressive combo potential.
Reaper
Reaper is built around fast moves and a deep list of combo routes, which makes it dangerous in a one-on-one. It’s a PvP-oriented art, but it also pulls weight in group content thanks to its barrage, which locks bosses in place long enough for teammates to stack M1s.
Solo PvE is where Reaper thins out. Without allies to capitalize on your barrages, the damage output isn’t as impressive. It never becomes unusable, but it’s not the ideal choice for solo grinding.
Best for: PvP duels and group boss fights where you have teammates to follow up on your pressure.
Shockwave
Shockwave is slightly PvP-oriented with an excellent moveset for combos and a strong dual counter. The counter is what makes it stand out, letting you punish opponents who get too aggressive. It’s also quite strong in PvE thanks to a barrage against bosses and great AoE damage for dungeons.
The reason it’s A Tier rather than S is that the counter requires the opponent to attack, and a charged approach still needs an opening. It’s versatile and rewarding, but it asks more of you than the top-tier options.
Best for: Players who want a hybrid moveset that performs well in both PvP and PvE with a high skill ceiling.
B Tier: Strong But Situational
These movesets can work, but they’re either specialized in one mode or have weaknesses that keep them out of the higher tiers.
Stone Breathing
Stone Breathing is the aggressive duelist option. Almost every attack comes with hyper armor, meaning you cannot be interrupted mid-swing. That lets you walk through pressure and keep hitting, which is incredibly oppressive in PvP. It’s a very aggressive, in-your-face style.
The problem is that it’s not as good in PvE. The hyper armor doesn’t help as much against bosses, and the slower combo speed means A Tier styles land their damage faster. Stone is a solid pick if you’re focused on PvP, but it’s not the all-rounder that Thunder is.
Best for: PvP players who want a hyper-armor style that can pressure through anything.
Flame Breathing
Flame Breathing is a PvE specialist. Paired with the Rengoku clan, it becomes a serious dungeon-clearing kit with wide area damage, long reach, and burn effects that clear packs quickly. The AoE coverage is excellent, and the burns add up over time.
In PvP, however, Flame falls behind. The slow start-up animations give opponents time to react, block, or dash away. If you’re purely focused on PvE and dungeons, Flame with Rengoku is fantastic. If you want to duel, look elsewhere.
Best for: PvE and dungeon clearing, especially with the Rengoku clan.
Explosive Blood
Explosive Blood is awkward. Several of its attacks can simply be blocked or dashed out of, which makes it unreliable when you’re trying to pressure someone. The tornado is a high-damage move if you can land it, but landing it consistently is the challenge.
The raw numbers are there, and in PvE where enemies won’t dodge, Explosive Blood can put in work. But in PvP, it’s frustrating to use against opponents who know what they’re doing.
Best for: PvE burst damage if you can reliably land the tornado. Not recommended for serious PvP.
Arrow Manipulation
Arrow moves are slow and require too much setup for PvP. They’re telegraphed, which means opponents can read them and deal with them easily. In PvE, that’s not a huge problem because enemies won’t sidestep your attacks. Arrow ends up being a solid farming option and a poor dueling one.
Best for: PvE farming. Avoid if you want to PvP.
Obi Manipulation
Obi is the mirror image of Arrow. It sucks for PvE but is good for duels. It’s a niche PvP toolkit with a lot of mixups and combos that require practice and skill. If you’re willing to put in the time, Obi can be a genuinely deep and rewarding moveset. If you want something that works everywhere, keep looking.
Best for: PvP duels only. Requires significant practice to get value.
C Tier: Usable With Practice, But Overall Weaker
These movesets aren’t unusable, but they require a lot more effort to get results compared to the higher tiers. They’re waiting for the balance patch to hopefully give them some love.
Wind Breathing
Wind Breathing has a few decent moves, but the signature ones, including the tornado, are too slow to land consistently in either mode. In PvE, some of your moves displace enemies in awkward ways, which stretches fights out longer than they need to be.
It’s playable, but it’s far more demanding than anything above it. If you’re a Wind fan, you can make it work with enough practice. But you’ll be working harder than everyone else for the same results.
Best for: Dedicated players who love the style and are willing to put in the extra effort.
Water Breathing
Water Breathing is the weakest breathing style in the game right now. Damage output is low, animations are sluggish, and in PvP several moves can be walked or dashed out of entirely. It has clear upside if the balance patch tightens up those start-ups, but as it stands, it’s the hardest style to get results with.
The good news is that Water is expected to get buffed. If you’re reading this after the balance patch, check back to see if the ranking has changed.
Best for: Waiting for the balance patch. Seriously.
Temari Manipulation
Temari Manipulation is the only Demon Art in C Tier, and honestly, it’s here for a reason. It’s better for PvE than PvP, but it’s not the best option for either. It stays usable for general PvE content, but there’s no situation where it’s the right answer over anything above it. Every other art on this list does at least one job better.
Best for: Nothing, really. If you have it, use it until you get something better.
Best Movesets by Mode
If you want the quick answer without reading through everything, here’s the breakdown by mode:
Best for PvP: Thunder Breathing, with Stone Breathing as the hyper-armor alternative. For Demon Arts, Ice Manipulation and Dream Manipulation dominate.
Best for PvE: Thunder, Sound, or Snake, depending on whether you want speed, support, or mobility. For Demon Arts, Blood Manipulation is unmatched for group bossing.
Best for Dungeons and Group Runs: Sound Breathing for holding enemies still, Flame with Rengoku for area clear. Ice Manipulation covers the most ground with its AoE.
Avoid for now: Water and Wind Breathing unless you enjoy the extra execution requirement. Temari Manipulation for Demon Arts unless you have no other option.
Clans Matter Too
Here’s something a lot of players overlook: your clan choice matters almost as much as your moveset. Some clans have direct synergy with specific Breathing Styles or Demon Arts, and the right pairing can completely change how a kit performs.
For example, Flame Breathing becomes significantly better with the Rengoku clan thanks to the burn damage synergies. Sound Breathing pairs well with Uzui. If you’re running Thunder, the Agatsuma clan is a natural fit.
As per of Slayers 2 tier list, the top clans in the game right now are Rengoku, Uzui, Soyama, and Kamado. If you have one of those, congratulations. If not, don’t stress too much. A well-played moveset with a mid clan can still beat a poorly played moveset with a Supreme clan.
Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the best Breathing Style in Slayers 2?
Thunder Breathing. It has instant-cast moves that are nearly impossible to react to, it’s strong in both PvP and PvE, and it’s the safest pick if you only want to master one style.
What’s the best Blood Demon Art in Slayers 2?
Blood Manipulation is the best overall, especially for group content. Ice Manipulation is a close second and arguably better for solo play thanks to its control tools and dungeon AoE.
Should I pick a Breathing Style or become a Demon?
That depends on what you want to play. Breathing Styles are exclusive to humans, and Blood Demon Arts are exclusive to demons. Both sides have S Tier options, so you can’t go wrong either way. Just know that you can’t have both on the same character.
Will the balance patch change these rankings?
Absolutely. The balance patch is expected to buff Water and Wind Breathing, and Blood Manipulation is specifically noted as being rated on a pre-patch version of itself. Some of these rankings in this Slayers 2 Breathing Style & Demon Art tier list will shift. But as of right now, this is where things stand.
What should I do if my favorite moveset is in C Tier?
You can still make it work with enough practice. Wind and Water aren’t unusable, they’re just harder to get results with. If you love the style, stick with it and hope the balance patch gives it some love.
